Unlike many of the vintage heart-shaped padlocks out there, this one—sourced by jeweler and antiquarian Erica Weiner—opens to reveal a small compartment. Whoever made it was clearly pleased with their design; you can tell from the hallmark on the back that they applied for a patent.
