A chance meeting at the supermarket between Belgian school friends Jan Helskens and Wim DeVierman led to the creation of GreenPan: a non-stick ceramic pan free from toxicity, even when heated. Using a coating derived from sand and applied without glue or other additives, the non-stick layer is heat-resistant up to 450℃ and dramatically reduces carbon emissions.
