Fairway Restaurant

Sagaponack, The Hamptons, New York

why we love it

A longstanding Hamptons classic, Fairway Restaurant is an all-day breakfast diner attached to a public nine-hole golf course and driving range. It went through a major renovation this past winter but managed to retain its cozy, classic local feel. This isn't your healthy-girl breakfast—it's the kind of meal that hits every nostalgic note from childhood ranging from their fan-favorite silver dollar pancakes to their turkey club and their homemade quesadillas. For how unassuming the place is, it pulls a surprisingly A-list local crowd. A real "if you know, you know" kind of spot.

Townline BBQ

Townline BBQ

3593 Montauk Hwy., Sagaponack
Sun-Thurs: 12pm-9pm
Fri-Sat: 12pm-9pm (Bar hours: 12pm-10pm)

For the best barbecue in the Hamptons, look no further than Townline BBQ—a roadside, Texas-style joint that absolutely delivers. The smoked brisket sandwiches, giant pretzels, and corn on the cob are all outstanding, and the rest of the experience earns its keep too: beer on tap, pool tables, and sports on the TVs above the bar. There's both indoor and outdoor seating, with takeout available.

Highway Restaurant

Highway Restaurant

290 Montauk Hwy., East Hampton
Thurs-Mon: 5pm-9pm
Tues-Wed: Closed

This barn-like roadside space is home to one of our favorite spots in the Hamptons: Highway Restaurant, the perfect place for an easy, crowd-pleasing dinner. The menu isn't married to any one cuisine—Peking duck (Fridays only), chicken stir-fry, and really good American cheeseburgers all share the page—and there are plenty of tasty veggie options too. If you order one thing, make it the Korean chicken buns. This summer, they've added Mexican Mondays to the rotation.

Loaves and Fishes Foodstore

Loaves and Fishes Foodstore

50 Sagg Main St., Sagaponack
Mon-Tues: Closed
Wed-Sun: 9am-5pm

Loaves and Fishes is the epitome of the Hamptons—a perfect collision of $100-a-pound lobster salad and a tiny, unassuming cottage on the side of the road. It's one of the most iconic gourmet prepared-foods shops out east, known for high-quality ingredients (sourced from the best local farms in the area) turned into the simplest, most delicious versions of everything: baked goods, breads, salads, soups, pastas, meats, and fish. And don't sleep on the brownie pudding—it tastes exactly like the best warm brownie batter you've ever had.

Pike Farms

Pike Farms

82 Sagg Main St., Sagaponack
Mon-Thurs: Closed
Fri-Sun: 10am-2pm

This tiny farmstand right next to Loaves and Fishes is the quintessential Hamptons stop. With the farm itself just behind and hand-painted lettering marking each crate of produce, it feels straight out of a vintage postcard. A note: it opens June 27.

Sagaponack General Store

Sagaponack General Store

542 Sagg Main St., Sagaponack
Mon-Sun: 7:30am-5:30pm

Sagaponack General has become quite the place—on weekends, it's so busy you almost have to avoid the area entirely. The store has serious history: 150 years ago, it was the only one in town. After a multimillion-dollar restoration led by owner Mindy Gray and architect Frank Greenwald, it reopened last year as a boutique market (think Grazia olive oil, Marvis toothpaste, and other niche, elevated essentials), with a coffee counter, bakery (the cinnamon rolls are unreal), and ice cream parlor under one roof. And don’t skip "penny" candy ($20 a pound).

Sagaponack Farm Distillery

Sagaponack Farm Distillery

369 Sagg Rd., Sagaponack
Fri-Sat: 3pm-8pm
Tasting Room & Patio are OPEN for Tastings & Cocktails

With a "From Seed to Glass" motto, this distillery is a perfect pitstop to sample spirits or enjoy happy hour. Made from on-site estates and produced there too, catch some live music, pop-up olive oil tastings, or other collaborations. As the Hamptons go, this refreshing alternative programming is certainly a standout.

Goldberg's Wainscott

Goldberg's Wainscott

84 Wainscott NW Rd., Wainscott
Mon-Sat: 6am-4pm
Sun: 6am-3pm

Goldberg's, the Hamptons' favorite bagel, has yet another outpost—this time in Wainscott. Clearly the obsession runs deep enough to warrant one in every town, and we're certainly not complaining.

Levain Bakery

Levain Bakery

Wainscott Village Shopping Center, 354 Montauk Hwy., Wainscott
Mon-Sun: 8am-4:30pm

Wainscott is home to Levain's second-ever location. It originally opened as a seasonal outpost and has since become a year-round fixture, stocking all the baked goods you know and love—those iconic gigantic 6oz cookies fresh out of the oven, plus breads and gourmet pizzas. It's a grab-and-go spot, so you can take the goods straight to the beach for a picnic or save them for an afternoon pick-me-up. And this summer, they’re bringing back their seasonal ice cream offerings, pairing their iconic thick, gooey cookies with scoops from Caffè Panna for the ultimate warm weather treat.

The Seafood Shop

The Seafood Shop

356 Montauk Hwy., Wainscott
Mon-Thurs: 9am-6pm
Fri-Sun: 9am-7pm

The Seafood Shop is the go-to for picking up freshly caught fish and seafood in this part of the Hamptons—and one of our favorites on the East End. Some of their most popular items are their pre-made ceviche, Montauk caught lobster tails to put directly on the grill, and if they have the fresh striped bass or tuna, trust us, it’s a must-get.

Wyeth Sagaponack

Wyeth Sagaponack

3654 Montauk Hwy., Sagaponack
Mon-Sun: 11am-5pm

Wyeth is undoubtedly the coolest interior design shop in the Hamptons. Tucked off Montauk Highway in an unassuming wooden cottage, the mid-century modern showroom carries a hand-selected, expertly authenticated mix of vintage lighting, furniture, art, and objects—from museum-quality masterpieces to anonymous industrial pieces. There's also the exclusive WYETH line of furniture and lighting, all handcrafted in the Brooklyn workshop of world-renowned owner and founder John Birch. Honestly, we'd happily move into the showroom.

Tripoli Gallery

Tripoli Gallery

26 Ardsley Rd., Wainscott
Mon: 10am-6pm
Wed-Sat: 10am-6pm
Sun: 12pm-5pm

Tripoli Patterson, a surfer-turned-gallerist who grew up in the Hamptons, curates compelling exhibitions of contemporary artists he's genuinely inspired by. It's not all bland white walls—the space feels like a younger, cooler, fresher take on what a gallery can be.
