Perched on a small hill as you drive into East Hampton, the more-than-century-old Maidstone Hotel was recently brought under the ownership of LDV Hospitality. Nestled within East Hampton's historic district, the 19-room property comes with complimentary beach passes to Main Beach. The rooms are clean, charming, and exactly what you need for a summer weekend out east.

Reopening on June 11 after a major redesign this winter by celebrated interior designer David Netto, The Hedges Inn is East Hampton's only full-service luxury hotel—and it's back with newly renovated interiors and a sharpened vision for East End hospitality. Perfectly situated between Main Street and Main Beach, the 12-room inn (originally established in 1873) is owned by Sarah and Andrew Wetenhall (from The Colony Hotel in Palm Beach), who debuted the property to acclaim last season and have since recommitted to a classic-meets-modern approach. Expect a full-service concierge, in-room dining, a signature beach butler experience (transportation, setup, and refreshments included), and a salon suite by Paul Labrecque.

Dating back to 1650 (yes, really), this sweet but undeniably luxurious bed and breakfast was once owned by one of East Hampton's original founders. The classic main house rooms feature claw-footed tubs, while the more modern Carriage House offers breezy suites with fireplaces and generous private terraces. Serene yet just steps from the village shopping district, this hidden gem also boasts a tranquil English garden flanked by 200-year-old wisteria.

While it sits steps from East Hampton’s boutique-and-gallery-packed main drag, this six-room inn (there’s also a separate two-family carriage house) is charming, quiet, and old-school. The picket-fenced, whitewashed home has functioned as a hotel since—you guessed it—1770. Its beautiful Colonial flourishes—exposed-wooden beams, antique fireplaces—are intact, alongside modern additions. At the on-site tavern, go for the burgers.

Located in the Springs district of East Hampton—not directly in town but further north on the bay side, on nine acres of waterfront—EHP is an escape from the hustle and bustle of the village. With cottages and suites complete with balconies, decks, and even backyards, it's one of the most private properties in the area. The amenities are no afterthought: tennis courts, a well-appointed gym, wellness programming, and a full slate of water activities. Wayan & Ma., the pop-up restaurant returning this season, serves Balinese-inspired dishes made with local produce—found nowhere else in the Hamptons. Once you check in, pull on a Frette robe and watch the sun sink into the harbor.

The Tavern at 1770 House is a very local, low-key spot with a burger you'll genuinely be writing home about. The oysters and Caesar salad are also standouts, and the rest of the menu more than holds its own. It's more of a fall or winter restaurant, since the dining room is in the basement—no sunset views to speak of—but that's exactly what makes it the perfect place for a cozy meal and a bottle of red.

From the group behind Houston's, East Hampton Grill is the more elevated sibling—a year-round spot, serving classic American fare (the spinach artichoke dip is a must). Whether you're posting up at the first-come, first-served bar or settling into the main dining room, it's an ideal lowkey year-round spot.

Located on the side of Montauk Highway as you head east out of East Hampton, Bostwick's is a casual seafood joint—think lobster rolls, clam chowder, poke bowls, steamers, and more. The whole place leans into a seaside aesthetic with plenty of nautical touches, and our favorite move is settling in on the patio under one of the umbrellas for a cold beer and a plate of fresh seafood—the kind of meal you'll be glad you had when summer ends. A note: they don't take reservations, and there's almost always a wait (buzzers and all). We'd recommend arriving before noon to avoid an hour-long wait—past 1pm gets insane and you’ll be waiting at least 45 minutes to an hour. The good news: there's a bar on the back patio to help pass the time.

The sister restaurant to Bostwick's Chowder House, Bostwick's on the Harbor is celebrating its 34th year in business. Located in the Springs neighborhood of East Hampton, the restaurant pairs a seafood-driven menu with some of the most cotton-candy sunsets you'll ever see. Fan favorites include the local fish tacos, the broiled Montauk fluke, and the sesame-seared yellowfin tuna. Settle in for a long dinner and let the view do the rest.

One of the best seafood markets in the Hamptons comes from the Bostwick's team. Located right next to their Chowder House on Montauk Highway, the market stocks fresh fish, plus all the ingredients you need to cook it, cooking ingredients, and a strong selection of prepared items that do the heavy lifting for you.

After an incredibly successful inaugural season at The EHP Hotel and Marina, Wayan & Ma. Dé is back for round two. It's a low-key setting paired with a high-end dining experience—and unparalleled sunsets to boot. The dynastic team turns out magical, Balinese-inflected dishes like charred pork ribs and lobster noodles, all built around local ingredients. The cocktails, for what it's worth, are almost too pretty to drink.

Robert Caravaggi's beloved Upper East Side institution, Swifty's, opened at The Colony in Palm Beach in 2019—taking what felt like half the Upper East Side with it. And now that Colony owners Sarah and Andrew Wetenhall have taken over The Hedges Inn, Swifty's has landed in East Hampton, too. With the hotelAfter a major undergoing a major redesign this winter by David Netto, the space will look entirely different from last summer (and it looked beautiful then—so we're even more excited to see what he's done with it). Expect the classic Swifty's experience: big juicy burgers, popovers with honey butter, Maryland crab cakes, and the kind of convivial vibe the room is known for.

Nick & Toni's is a Hamptons institution: the kind of place you go every Friday night for dinner, where you've devoured everything on the menu a million times and still aren't sick of it, where you know the other diners and are on smile-and-wave terms with the chef. The restaurant has been feeding East Hamptonites since 1988, and the experience from start to finish is pure comfort—the Tuscan-farmhouse-style setting, the dependably delicious primi, the servers who remember your name.

Balmy summer nights and dinner plans with a crowd call for the shareable feasts Mexican cuisine does best. Rita Cantina sticks to local bounty (where possible) for its menu of short rib birria tacos, chorizo clams, and grilled Mexican street corn. Beyond the food, the yellow-and-white patio with its striped parasols is a sunny, happy place to land day or night—and the bar stays open late, which is a real rarity in the Hamptons.

Years after the success of their Southampton flagship, Sant Ambroeus opened a second Hamptons location in East Hampton—much smaller, with just 50 seats (and even that feels generous for the space) and operating as a restaurant only, serving breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. With seating that spills onto the sidewalk, it's a lovely stop for a meal right as you arrive in town.

In a space inspired by old-school New England summer camps—there are vintage water skis and tennis rackets up on the walls—the Rubirosa team slings thin-crust pizzas (get the signature “tie dye” with vodka sauce and pesto) alongside classic starters (arancini, baked clams, crispy calamari), handmade pastas (the cavatelli with sausage and broccoli rabe is tops), and hearty mains (shrimp scampi, chicken parm, et al.).

Born out of the success of Tutto Il Giorno's Southampton and Sag Harbor restaurants, owners Gianpaolo De Felice and David Mayer set out to create something a little different with Tutto Caffé—a Neapolitan café and bar serving organic coffee, cappuccino, and espresso alongside authentic Italian pastries, paninis, and savory bites throughout the day. The East Hampton outpost comes with indoor and outdoor seating that makes it just as easy to settle in for a casual breakfast as it is to grab a coffee on the go.

The original Red Horse Market sits right before you reach the village in East Hampton. It's a gourmet grocery known for locally caught seafood, top-of-the-line meats, well-edited pantry items, and excellent prepared foods—everything thoughtfully chosen, but never so over-curated that it starts to feel more about packaging and provenance than what's actually inside. The products aren't fancy—they're just good.

The Golden Pear's East Hampton location sits right in the heart of the village. Between people lining up for their post-workout iced coffees, an afternoon jolt, or a breakfast sandwich, the spot is reliably busy—a staple of town and an unofficial meeting place for locals and visitors alike.

Round Swamp's East Hampton location is the original outpost of what is probably the most famous gourmet market in the Hamptons. Family-run for four generations, it brings together the absolute best produce, home-cooked specialties, and exceptional seafood—seriously, every item is somehow better than the last, and you'll just have to see for yourself. This location is right on the farm, so you can stop by to say hello to the chickens that lay the fresh eggs.

S&S Corner Shop is where Brooklyn-cool meets Springs low-key—an offbeat coffee house with fresh pastries, sundries and supplies, and a notable art-book collection. New this summer: a women's clothing section that’s definitely worth a browse, too.

Carissa Waechter is a familiar name on this skinny stretch of Long Island. Her pies, cakes, and pickled sourdough rye (the starter has been going since 1999) have been gracing the tables of year-round residents and New York blow-ins for years. Fresh produce comes from nearby farms, and an expanded bakery space means even more pickled rye and olive ciabatta for the locals who know just how good it is (very). Worth noting: this location is takeout only.

After the incredible success of her small bakery in the heart of East Hampton, Carissa Waechter opened a larger, all-day restaurant on Pantigo Road. The space houses a full bakery, restaurant, and bar, with everything available for takeaway or to enjoy on-site. The chocolate chip cookies are to die for, the bowls and salads are equally great, and the breads are the kind you'll want to bring back to the house and rip into.

Goldberg's also has an East Hampton outpost—right on the side of the highway as you head further east toward Amagansett. Consider it your built-in safety net for any bagel emergency.

The Sweet Spot is the ultimate frozen yogurt and dessert shop in East Hampton. Beyond the fro-yo, the menu spans donut holes, house-made milkshakes, nitro coffee concoctions, freshly baked cookies, and a wide candy selection. Tucked on the back end of town, it's a bit more of a walk—but worth it for an after-dinner treat or an afternoon sugar boost.

Neighborhood bookstore BookHampton has been a presence in East Hampton, in various incarnations, for more than 40 years. Thanks to new owner—famed art dealer and gallery owner Larry Gagosian—the shop has introduced even more space for art books, literary events, and guest speakers. The rare art books located all the way at the top of the shelf are incredible—and you can peruse through them if you ask nicely.

AERIN's newest location opens at 7 Newtown Lane, bringing Aerin Lauder's effortless approach to refined living to East Hampton. Designed in collaboration with Tom Scheerer, the intimate boutique features selections from AERIN's home decor and fragrance collections, complemented by a carefully curated mix of artisanal brands, vintage treasures, and one-of-a-kind discoveries sourced from around the world. Whether you're hunting for a hostess gift, a home accent, or that one piece to complete your tablescape, AERIN has it.

Look no further than Eres for the perfect summer swimsuit. The French label's ultra-luxurious fabric makes for a bathing suit that can last a lifetime and somehow flatters every body. It's a classic for a reason.

The art scene in the Hamptons gets bigger every year, so it’s only fitting that the collectors and artists that migrate here each summer should have a New York City-quality art bookstore. Harper’s hosts exhibitions of emerging artists year-round, and they have an original, yet thorough, selection of books on rare photography, art, and literature available. It’s also a great stop if you need a last-minute hostess gift.

JED is one of the best antique homeware shops in the Hamptons, tucked into the same shopping cluster as Red Horse Market. You come in for an unassuming look-around and leave with a lamp and four chairs.

Ralph Lauren and the Hamptons go hand in hand—and East Hampton is a particular moment for the brand, with three separate stores tucked into different buildings around town. Ralph Lauren Collection is the highest-end tier, housing both the women's and men's lines. It's where you'll find the perfect dress for the party of the summer—or the ultra-soft cashmere cable-knit sweater you'll keep reaching for over a pair of jeans.

Live out your Western fantasy at RRL's East Hampton outpost. Named after Ralph Lauren's Colorado ranch, RRL is the premium heritage line focused on rugged Americana-vintage-inspired denim, workwear, military gear, and Western wear from the early 1900s. The store is housed in a beautiful old barn with greenery covering the facade, and the whole space feels like its own saloon wonderland. Stock up on turquoise jewelry, distressed denim, and vintage-cut blouses and dresses, with full collections for both men and women.

Stevenson's Toys, the Hamptons' go-to toy store, has a second location on Newtown Lane in East Hampton—stocked with a carefully edited assortment of the best toys, games, backyard and beach sports gear, and gifts for every age. The selection runs from classic board games and Legos to dolls, magic kits, Jellycat stuffed animals, Needohs, Barbies, Playmobil, Nerf, and arts and crafts. Truly, there's something for every kid (and every adult who's still a kid at heart).

When you need a gift you don't have time to overthink, The Monogram Shop is the answer. Founded in 1997 as a small family business with a single embroidery machine, the East Hampton shop has spent nearly three decades on beautifully monogrammed cocktail napkins, paper cups, baby gifts, towels, and everyday essentials.

When you're in need of new intimates (bras, underwear, the rest) or sleepwear, Bonne Nuit is the spot. The boutique carries only the most luxurious fabrics and labels—everything you might need, all at the highest quality.

One of our favorite artistic ventures in the Hamptons is Onna House—an all-female sanctuary filled with art, furniture, and objects by women artists and designers, housed in a Japanese modernist 1960s residence in the center of East Hampton. Founder Lisa Perry has curated the space as both home and gallery, with exhibits and summer programming we always look forward to. One of the prettiest and most photographed parts of East Hampton's historic district is Mulford Farm. It's recognized as one of the country's most important and intact English Colonial farmsteads—originally built in 1680 and largely untouched since 1750. The perfect stop when trying to get your steps in.

The name Judith Leiber will probably ring a bell—she's iconic for her crystal-covered, sculptural luxury evening bags—and The Leiber Collection is the museum dedicated to them, along with her broader art and sculpture collection. The space honors the intersection of art, fashion, and landscape while preserving the legacy of both Judith and her husband, the painter Gerson Leiber, through ongoing exhibitions and programming rooted in creativity, craftsmanship, and the artistic heritage of the East End.

Once shared by Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner, this small homestead from 1879 is now a National Historic Landmark. Here you'll see many artifacts from their life, including everything that was still in the house when Krasner died, as well as a studio where you can see Pollock’s process documented across the paint-splattered floor. Open Thursdays through Sunday for 1-hour guided tours, by reservation only.

This new three-court padel club offers memberships—available seasonally or year-round—that get you access to priority court booking and discounted clinics and private lessons. They also host backgammon, table tennis, and pottery classes (all open to members and non-members), if you’re looking to hang out before or after your court reservation.

A non-Hamptons Hamptons spot—this art center and music venue is way off the beaten track, but worth the trip. With a low-key, word-of-mouth Berkshires vibe, bring a chair and a picnic and enjoy the historic, community-minded location. Programming is free.

Guild Hall is the cultural heart of the East End—a museum, performing arts venue, and education center founded in 1931. With a full theater program alongside its rotating exhibitions, it’s a true Hamptons institution.

This airy East Hampton gallery brings inspired contemporary art to the Hamptons, and from the very first show, it has presented an eclectic, experimental range of international artists and programming. The gallery represents emerging and mid-career talent, many of whom have works in the permanent collections of major museums worldwide. It's always worth a visit.

Textile designer and Hamptons fixture Jack Lenor Larsen opened the Longhouse as a place to share his eclectic collection of art and artifacts. It's best known for a fantastic sculpture garden that, in addition to an imaginative landscaping layout, displays works from the likes of Willem de Kooning, Buckminster Fuller, Toshiko Takaezu, Sol LeWitt, and Yoko Ono.

While Eric Firestone is most recognized for his gallery in the center of town, we wanted to highlight a hidden gem—The Garage—the gallery's sweeping 7,000-square-foot warehouse space at 62 Newtown Lane. The curation rotates throughout the summer, with a "salon" installation that combines historic material from the gallery's roster with younger generations of contemporary artists.

Rasa Pilates offers a more personalized and classical take on Pilates, with a small number of group reformer classes and a heavier focus on privates, duets, or small groups of three to four. Sessions run 50 or 60 minutes and are led by founder and instructor Rasa Tarailaite, who has a dance background, certification as a Pilates Rehab professional, and more than a decade of training and teaching under her belt.

Naturopathica is the go-to spa of the Hamptons. Originally established as an herbal apothecary called the East Hampton Healing Arts Center, the brand has since expanded to offer personalized massages, facials, and waxing—all drawing on the healing power of touch. The same clean-ingredient mindset extends to their skin care formulations, too.

Pietro Simone, one of GP's favorite aestheticians and "skin whisperers," has a teeny East Hampton outpost. With over 25 years of practice and a deep understanding of the skin's physiology, Pietro draws on nature's finest ingredients across his full menu of treatments—microneedling, peels, hair removal, body work, and a range of facials, including his signature "pro-aging" approach for graceful, non-surgical results. It's one of the top wellness destinations in the Hamptons.

A dancer by training, founder and instructor Ashley has long used Pilates as both a method of training and rehabilitation—and her sessions reflect a deeply authentic understanding of the practice. Exceptionally knowledgeable about injuries and prenatal movement, she tailors each session thoughtfully, making her an excellent fit for all types of clients. She works exclusively in private and duet sessions.

One of our favorite wellness destinations in NYC has opened a seasonal East Hampton outpost, running June 1 through September 1. Sessions are offered in private, semi-private, and small-group formats, led by their training team in an indoor/outdoor setting. There's truly nothing scarier than an emergency in a place where you don't know where to go—or one that's too far away when you need something closer. Stony Brook Southampton Hospital is the first choice, but if you're further east, they also have an Emergency Department in East Hampton, open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

We've listed plenty of emergency and health clinics across the Hamptons, but none specifically for kids—and that's where East End Pediatrics comes in. They reserve time for same-day sick appointments; just call the office first.
