Curation is, and always has been, the cornerstone of goop. Our buyers are always on the lookout for exceptional designers to add to our roster, and every season’s search turns up new names. Only the lines we deem worthy of both your coin and your precious closet real estate make the cut.
For this installment, the theme is: holiday heroes. These four brands—which make some very cute swimwear, Venetian slippers, and vacation-worthy dresses—should be on your radar right now, whether you have a big trip planned or not.

VIBI VENEZIA
Furlanes—the rubber-soled slippers traditionally worn by Venetian gondoliers—were no big deal to sisters Viola and Vera Arrivabene, who grew up along the canals. It wasn’t until they were older, and their foreign friends would consistently ask them to bring an extra pair whenever they would visit, that they realized the opportunity they were sitting on. Soon after, ViBi Venezia was born. While the Liscabianca is the OG silhouette, we find ourselves drawn to the Mary Janes; they feel a little more playful and feminine.
ESCVDO
Sisters Chiara and Giuliana Macchiavello founded ESCVDO to celebrate—and to support—local craftsmanship in their native Peru, which boasts one of the richest textile traditions in the world. The brand employs over 350 skilled artisans across the country (95 percent of them are women) to produce its one-of-a-kind creations, which are made using a variety of time-honored knitting techniques. The screen doesn’t do these pieces justice: You really have to see—and feel—them in person to appreciate the artistry.

VANESSA SPOSI
Simple, elegant, a little bit sexy—that’s Vanessa Sposi in a nutshell. Everything from the Parisian swimwear brand is made from a special peau douce fabric, which is both comfortable (“peau douce” means “soft skin” in French) and durable (it’s resistant to fading and staining from chlorine, sunlight, sunscreen, and oils). In addition to always-relevant black, the minimalist styles come in a handful of earthy-yet-sophisticated hues we love, like carmine orange and emerald green.
CALA DE LA CRUZ
In Spanish, “cala” translates to cove or small bay: a peaceful place where the sea comes in to settle and the sun warms the shallow waters. Colombian textile designer Carolina López Cruz makes resortwear inspired by the idea of such a place—think feminine halter dresses and long, flowy skirts that let you wade in to your ankles. Everything is done in natural materials, like organic cotton or lightweight linen. We’re especially fond of her printed pieces; they’re bold and fun but still feel plenty elevated.
