Your Numerology Guide to 2019
Josh Siegel was raised by two heavy-handed skeptics. In fact, his “mom was a direct descendant of Albert Einstein,” he tells us. If something couldn’t be proven, it wasn’t real. Around the time Siegel started contemplating the greater meaning of life, he discovered numerology. It’s an ancient system that relies on numbers to decode the recurring patterns in our lives. From there, he pursued mysticism with the rigor of an academic. And for the past two decades, he’s been practicing what he calls “evidence-based spirituality.” Any finding that cannot yield real-world results for him isn’t tolerated. The result: Numerology readings with Siegel rival sessions with the most gifted psychics (Siegel swears he isn’t one). He’s accurate, clear, and at times, really blunt and funny.
To experience the full complexity of your numerological blueprint, you’d have to book a full session with Siegel. But one number we can all use is the year cycle: the number that reveals the themes and lessons of the months that lie ahead.
The Year in Numbers
Step 1: Add your month and date of birth.
For example, let’s say you were born on February 20, or 2/20: 2 + 20 = 22.
Add those numbers together, so 22 becomes 2 + 2 = 4.
If you were born on November 30, or 11/30: 11 + 30 = 41. Always break down double digit numbers until you get to a single digit.
41 becomes 4 + 1 = 5.
Set aside your number.
Step 2: Add the digits of the current year. In this case, 2019.
2 + 0 + 1 + 9 = 12
1 + 2 = 3
Step 3: Now add the number from step one (month + day) to the number for this year (3) to get your yearly cycle.
Using the first example from step 1: Someone born on 2/20 would have a month and day number of 4.
4 + 3 = 7
7 is their yearly cycle number for 2019.
Step 4: Once you know your 2019 cycle, find the corresponding number below to learn about the general influences you will be under this year.
The Yearly Cycles
1: NEW BEGINNINGS
Welcome to your new cycle. Although the first few months of the year may still require some tying up of loose ends from last year’s 9 cycle, there is now an opportunity to forge ahead with a fresh start. This year is all about new beginnings: new jobs, projects, business ideas, and even relationships. However, on a deeper level, this cycle is more about a redefining of self and a reclaiming of your own individual path. It is important to establish independence and self-reliance. From my experience, the 1 year is about initiative and believing in yourself. With that in mind, take steps to create your own future as you want it to be. You can create a vision board or a list of what you want to start this year. Don’t worry about outcomes; just move forward. This year is yours to make, so don’t rely on others to create your future. You are your future.
2: AWAKENINGS AND IMPORTANT DECISIONS
Last year was marked by a pioneering spirit and new starts. You’ve now reached a fork in the road. If you feel somewhat stuck or at a crossroads, do not see this as a negative. It is time to slow down and take time to allow your next move to come to you. There may be major decisions that could have a profound effect on your life. For those who are intuitive, there may be awakenings and insights. For others, indecision will give way to decisive action.
Keep yourself in balance and be patient. You’ll find that things pick up as the year progresses. It’s best to rely on your gut feelings as opposed to the overthinking mind. Partnerships may be helpful as long as you don’t lose your boundaries. The moment will come when the answer will become clear to you. This is all part of a transformative process that will awaken you to what is truly possible.
3: CREATIVE AND EMOTIONAL EXPANSION
Last year may have been marked by big decisions, revelations, and major shifts. This year enlarges and expands the scope of what was realized. This is typically a creative and extroverted cycle. It’s time to get out there and connect both professionally and personally. There may be more of a flow to your life that leads to greater growth potential. You could also have an opportunity to get wider exposure and success in creative endeavors. However, the 3 cycle may expand your emotional self as well. It is one of the classic cycles for connecting to new friends and associates and even beginning a relationship. If you are currently in a relationship, you may deepen the bonds or redefine whether your needs are being met. In some cases, those who do not deal with their emotions may experience a fated event that opens up the heart.
In fact, the purpose of a 3 year is to get in touch with your emotional self and start expressing how you truly feel inside. It could be the time to have “the talk” with someone you need to clarify things with. Don’t be afraid to let out some deeper feelings on your social media. You’ll be surprised how people respond to your vulnerable, honest approach. Own your voice and see how your life changes
4: BUILDING THE PLAN
Last year was a catalyst for a reevaluation of your emotional needs as well as a time of creative and social growth. It is now time to get back to the practical aspects. There may be a restructuring and a reorganizing of your life, particularly your job. Some may actually start a new job or at least change the way they work. You may find yourself busier than usual and may need to prioritize. This cycle is all about building a structure for your future, and it may require that you handle some logistics to get your life on track. It may be time to hire an extra hand to help your business or even an organizer at home.
Do not take on more than you can. Break things down into manageable steps. By the end of this cycle, you will have built a solid foundation and a smoother-running life. You’ll be ready for the exciting new opportunities coming next.
5: BREAKING THE MOLD
Last year was about hard work and dedication to establish a stable structure. Get ready for new opportunities and freedom! Time to take some risks and live a new adventure. You may feel restless to such an extent that you’re against limitations and restrictions. Travel is on the horizon, and there may be an ability to attract others (if single), which could result in romantic encounters. However, you may want to maintain your options. It’s a fortuitous time for marketing and promoting yourself. The 5 cycle can bring sudden unforeseen events, including breaks and opportunities. But why wait for that to happen? You may want to invest in a side business or engage in speculative enterprise. For some, this cycle will challenge you to get out of your comfort zone. Others may use the energy to leave it all behind and go on a safari.
It’s of course important to do your research before any major moves. Remember: Change can bring renewal. I have seen people revolutionize their lives in a 5 cycle and never look back.
6: COMMITMENT, HOME, AND VISION
Last year was about throwing caution to the wind and taking some smart risks for greater gain. Now it is time to settle down and commit to a more long-term plan. The 6 cycle is associated with a change in relationship status and has a profound effect on one’s love life. Experience has shown that existing relationships either become more serious if on a strong footing or possibly end if on shaky ground.
Your home may come to the forefront, resulting in a move or a redecorating project. Starting a family or engaging in family responsibilities in general may be a feature of this year. The 6 cycle can also be good for income (although second to the 8 cycle) and can be a particularly successful time for artists.
Finally, remember that when it comes to relationships, self-love is the key to attracting the right person. Find the love within and be clear about what you really require in a healthy relationship. You will then better recognize the right partner when you meet him or her.
7: FINDING YOUR DEEPER TRUTH
Last year was marked by changes in your home and relationships with others. Now it is time to deepen your relationship with yourself. This can be a spiritual cycle for some.
There may be fated events that occur that wake you up to seeing the truth of your life. It is time to remember that you are here to grow as a soul and your inner world needs nourishment. It’s also time to ask yourself what you find most meaningful and even what your greater purpose is. Some may become less sociable and need time for individual pursuits. Not everyone is going to quit their job to live on an ashram in India, however it may be the right time for that yoga retreat. You may want to go into therapy, read more self-help, work on your health, or learn meditation. If you’ve been less than truthful with yourself, the 7 cycle may give you a wake-up call that dispels some illusions.
On the career front, you may want to find your niche that better aligns with your more authentic self. It’s also a perfect time for the research and development of a brilliant idea that could result in greater success in your next cycle.
However, the greatest gift of a 7 cycle is the reconnection to the true you, not the roles we play in life. Wisdom teaches that happiness is an inner state of being and should not be dependent on the outside world. The more you find peace within, the better you will handle the challenges of life. That is the true potential of a 7 year.
8: EMPOWERMENT AND ACCOMPLISHING YOUR GOALS
Last cycle helped you wake up to a more meaningful and truthful life. Now it’s time to manifest in the outer world. Welcome to your power year. In my experience this is the strongest cycle for furthering your career and goals. You may receive a promotion, raise, bonus, or attain more power and authority in your chosen field. However, be aware that there is no magical cycle that hands success to you. Focus on establishing proper self-worth and self-value. You must feel worthy of receiving and value what you bring to the table. If you have been in a disempowering environment, this is the time to reclaim your personal power and get what you deserve. You can now attract greater abundance, so take advantage of this window of opportunity. It is also important to determine what “making it” really means to you. Having a high-status job that makes you miserable may not be true success. If you’re making a living doing what you love, you’re successful.
9: THE GRAND TRANSITIONAL CYCLE
Last year you may have reaped the dividends of your hard work or manifested important goals. Yet there is a time and place for everything under the sun. You are now entering what I call the Grand Transitional Cycle. It is time to slow down and reevaluate where you’ve come from and what you’ve learned along the way. You are completing a journey that started 9 years ago. It is possible that some parts of your life that no longer serve a purpose may come to an end. This process takes time and may extend into the beginning of next year. You may end a relationship that played out unresolved wounds that need to be healed. You could move away from a place that somehow seems old or transition out of a job or career. You may need space from a toxic “friend.” You could clean out the closet, do a cleanse, or get some counseling. It’s time to move on and transition into a more integrated and wiser you.
The purpose of any 9 year is to heal the past. Certain events may give you the opportunity to reconcile those parts of yourself you may have neglected. However, it need not be a heavy time. This could be the long overdue time you free yourself of unnecessary baggage and live a lighter, happier life. There may be beautiful experiences with others that can show you a different way of being. When you are ready, a new start is waiting for you that can reflect all you’ve learned.
