A Revitalizing Eye Yoga and Restorative Movement Session
In partnership with our friends at Avocado Green Mattress
Sometimes, we could go for an extended visualization exercise to get us out of our bodies and into our minds. Other times, we like a deep stretching routine to achieve the opposite. Most of the time we fall somewhere in the middle, and what feels good is a little bit of everything: mindfulness to revitalize the body, fire up the breath, and awaken the senses before we get back to whatever it is we’re doing.
In this guided session, yoga instructor and Get Loved Up founder Koya Webb gives us just that. Webb starts with eye yoga: a method of stretching and gently massaging the eyes and surrounding muscles to release tension and relieve tiredness. Then she leads a few minutes of mindful movement to open the chest, shoulders, and back. She rounds out the practice with active ujjayi breathing before letting the breath settle into its natural rhythm for a body scan and a short visualization exercise. It shakes some liveliness back into our day and keeps us feeling good—and we come back to it whenever we need a little energetic pick-me-up.
