A Magical Evening in Wellness:
The Power Source, Gua Sha,
and Our Backyard Crew

In May, we published the newest goop Press book, The Power Source. But we’re burying the lead: The author is
body-alignment expert and goop BFF Lauren Roxburgh. She’s one of the greatest connectors we know, mind to

body—which is what her book is all about. She’s also a great connector, person to person—which means when she throws a book party, it’s a who’s who and what’s what of wellness.

Roxburgh brought us together with some of the most talented practitioners and teachers—and generally lovely people—in Los Angeles. It was a beautiful evening in a backyard of Mandeville Canyon. There were gua sha facials, aromatherapy, an Instagrammable food spread, and plenty of glasses of white from Thrive Wines.

We had a lot of reasons to toast. “My method and work is about helping people live more in the present moment,” said Roxburgh. “Celebration is part of that balance of being in a calm place—a place of flow, not force.” And as our chief content officer, Elise Loehnen, said, “I’ll drink to that.”
