goop Staff Obsession: The Detox Shop
We’re all going easy on the sugar and heavy on the bone broth and foam rolling this month, switching out potentially toxic routines and products for clean ones. Unsurprisingly, we’ve also been shopping up a storm in our Detox Shop (office manager Heaven Saunders, above, tried Agent Nateur deodorant and ended up buying a second, just so she’d wouldn’t run out). Here, more essentials goop staffers can’t live without.

“I was really hesitant about switching over from my regular deodorant (that totally worked) to non-toxic—but the Agent Nateur was the perfect replacement. It glides on easily and the subtle scent from the essential oils is so good. But more than anything, I love it because it actually works! It is so effective that I bought two this month so I never run out!”

DEODORANT goop, $19

“This book is like having a best friend talk you through all aspects of gut health and clean living. It took me years to figure out I had food sensitivities that were affecting so many aspects of my health, and if I’d had this book, I’d have had a much easier (and way less costly) path to understanding what foods work for my body and those I need to stay far away from. It’s truly the ultimate wellness bible!”

“I’m a smudging novice, so I’ve been taking this handy kit for a spin—and, well, sage-ing everyone in the office.

“One of my New Year’s detox resolutions was to buy a blender (I know, I know, how did I get hired?) and start making smoothies. I just got my first order of Daily Harvest smoothies last week and I’ve been adding the Beauty Chef glow powder each morning. I think it’s working, too—people have been complimenting me on how rested I look, when it’s the farthest thing from how I feel ordinarily!”

GLOW INNER BEAUTY POWDER goop, $70

“I’m a little (okay, a lot) OCD about dental hygiene. There is nothing more refreshing than Cocofloss—I don’t go anywhere without it.”
Beauty director Jean Godfrey-June adds: “I recently ran out of Cocofloss, and experienced the full realization of how wildly inferior every other floss is in comparison.”

“I had my entire team over for our first annual detox party, and we all did this amazing mask. I use it a few times a month, if my skin breaks out or when I have razor burn. You can really feel the ingredients working, almost as if the mask is cleaning out your pores while it’s drying. If it sounds weird for a guy to do a face mask, well…I make an exception for this!”

The Problem SOLVER
CORRECTING MASQUE goop, $90

“I love the way it leaves my skin feeling super clean, and the paper packaging is both adorable and chic.”

BLACK CHARCOAL SOAP goop, $18

“This is the best pot I’ve ever had. I make everything in it—it’s especially great for poaching chicken for the goop Crunchy Veggie Salad detox recipe—but it’s equally good for less detox-y endeavors like mashed potatoes and pasta dishes. When it’s not in use, it also looks pretty just sitting on my stovetop.”

7qt round cocotte goop, $345

“These are perfect for travel or after a workout. They smell so fresh, and they leave my skin pure and clean, but still soft and moisturized. The small packets are so easy—they fit in any bag.”

ESSENTIAL FACE WIPES goop, $24

“When I don’t have time for a massage, I do some basic heart-opening moves that work out the tension in my back at the same time.”

ALIGNED ROLLER goop, $50

“I love dry brushing! If I don’t have time to work out in the morning, it’s an easy way to wake me up; it makes me feel so energized. I just turn on a podcast and dry brush for 5 to 10 minutes, then jump in the shower.”

POLISHING BODY BRUSH goop, $32

“My absolute obsession when I need a quick reset: I wake up the next day feeling refreshed. I take a bath at least twice a week.”

CUBE DETOX BATH goop, $10

“My family is Italian and I grew up putting olive oil on everything in the kitchen, but since interviewing the Amens (see our story on cooking oils) I’ve been sautéing vegetables in coconut oil. I keep a second jar in the bathroom since it’s the best (cheap) body oil.”

VIRGIN COCONUT OIL goop, $23
