5 Reasons We Love Our NYC Coworking Space
Created with Convene and DAVIDsTEAFor our NYC-based team, it’s a pleasure to work together—and where we do it makes all the difference. For more than a year, we’ve made our home base at Convene, a thoughtfully-designed, hospitality-centered coworking space in the heart of Midtown.
This is what we love most about it:
1. SPACE TO SPREAD OUT.
The whole place feels open and airy, never tight or crowded. We spend most of our time at the large community tables, which are great for more-casual parts of our day—whittling down our inboxes, maybe, or working on shared projects where we need to chat as we go. There are meeting rooms of all sizes for private and in-depth conversations. And for heads-down work, we opt for the individual work stations where you can count on a quiet, focused atmosphere.
2. THE (REALLY GOOD) FOOD.
We’ve loved the Convene café from day one. They serve healthy lunches on site, so we can get something energizing and nutritionally solid between meetings. Plus: matcha in the morning, organic elderberry kombucha with lunch, chocolate-covered raisins as a mid-afternoon snack…
3. THE ROOFTOP TERRACE.
Our home Convene—530 Fifth Avenue—has a very chic patio and balcony. It’s great for lunch gatherings, casual touch-bases, or basking in some fresh air and sunlight.
4. THE EASY COMMUTE.
There are a smattering of Convenes across Midtown and the Financial District. We picked one that’s a few blocks from Grand Central Station; it’s convenient for those of us commuting from within Manhattan as well as those coming in from outside the city. There’s also a clean, beautiful, and well-stocked shower setup—a blessing for sweaty summer commutes.
5. OUR VERY OWN SMOOTHIE.
Did we bury the lede? Our smoothie, created with Convene’s in-house executive chef, is an exclusive and limited-time menu item at Convene cafés. It’s made with a satisfying blend of banana, pineapple, kale, and spinach—plus coconut water for hydration, hemp for protein, flax for omega-3s, and a twist of lime juice.
What We Keep In Our Work Bags
Aside from the totally requisite stuff—laptop, headphones, wallet—there are a few small luxuries we like to carry with us when we leave for the office.
