Go Now: The New Spa at Meadowood

It’s pretty easy to make a case for a weekend at Meadowood: A 3-Michelin-starred restaurant helmed by Christopher Kostow (which is also on San Pellegrino’s list of the 100 best restaurants in the world), a location smack in the middle of Napa, beautifully turned out rooms and suites, a gorgeous and peaceful woodsy backdrop, plus tennis courts, croquet lawns, golf, pools, and hikes. But until this year, their spa was not a lot to speak of (it was downstairs in the fitness center, and limited to just a handful of rooms). It’s different now: Occupying a sprawling, zenned-out retreat perched up on the hill, it revolves around spa suites, where you can take meals and snacks, relax, or even read (they accommodate couples, as well)—all while looking out at the valley below. It’s really, really well done—with a wellness-based treatment menu to match—as well as all the other requisite features like a hot mineral pool, saunas, and steam rooms. If you’ve been holding out on booking a trip, go now, as they are fully hitting their stride. (Meadowood earns points for being kid-friendly, too, though not resoundingly so…separate pools, for one.)
