New York-based Amy Smilovic has a background in business and an eye for clean, minimal design. Wanting to create modern pieces that she herself would want to wear, she launched Tibi in 1997. Today, the line is all about putting a cool, feminine spin on classic and masculine shapes—billowy trousers; button-downs with pretty puff sleeves; knits that play with proportion—creating chic, structured silhouettes that are dramatic (but not costume-y) and practical for everyday wear.
