Where We’re Headed
(and What We’re Packing)
This Memorial Day
Sure, June 21 might be the solstice, but here at the goop office, summer starts the minute there’s an optimistic forecast and a three-day weekend. Our first order of business: planning an escape. And the second order of business: packing for that escape. Whether it’s getting some fresh mountain air or hanging by the pool and barbecuing with friends, here’s how our editors are plotting their escape—and what’s coming along for the ride.

Megan O’Neill
senior beauty editor
“I’m heading to Woodstock—the serene walks through the woods, the swimming holes, the staying up deep into the night lounging around a campfire with friends. I cannot wait to get up there.”
-
Gül Hürgel
RUFFLE NECK DRESS goop, $945 “My favorite restaurant for dinner in Woodstock is Bear Café. Best margaritas, best bread basket (it comes out warm), and some great people-watching. It’s not a dress-to-the-nines type of place, but I always aim to look like a classier version of myself. I want to wear this out to all sorts of summery dinners. It’s airy yet shapely, it’s playful with that ruffled flourish, and I love that splashy cerulean color.” -
VINTNER’S DAUGHTER Serum
goop, $185 “I don’t go anywhere without this incredible blend of the most nourishing, skin-clearing oils. And I can’t bear the thought of going back to looking not gleamy. I am completely and utterly obsessed.” -
G. SPORT Peonies Crop Top goop, $75 “I live for hiking in the summer heat! I love the earthy smells, the endless sunshine, working up a sweat, and that I can gallivant through nature wearing a vibrant, peony-embellished sports bra without a sweatshirt covering up its awesomeness.”
-
Lisa Marie Fernandez
BIKINI goop, $395 “I’m dying over this hot orange bikini. The sleekness! Woodstock has some pretty fantastic swimming holes that aren’t always crowded on a sultry day.” -
GLACCE Water Bottle goop, $80 “I’m making it a goal to use less plastic this summer. This glass water bottle has a rose quartz crystal (known as the love stone) inside to charge your water with positive vibes. Why the eff not, right?! Makes drinking water way less boring, too.”

Alyssa Nelsen
creative copywriter
“My fiancé’s family lives up in Santa Barbara, so it’s kind of like our second home on long weekends (not to mention an easy, gorgeous drive up the coast). This trip, we’re particularly excited for our mini staycation at the newly opened Hotel Californian.”
-

“Last time I was down there, I was just ten years old, so I’m excited to go back. I want to try restaurants like Edith’s and this cool farm meets bar, Acre, but I’m planning on spending as much time at the beach as possible. And maybe I’ll convince my brother to go skydiving with me…”
