Light Jackets, Suede Accessories, and More Spring Things to Add to Cart

Recently, a few goop staffers were discussing the wardrobe updates we’re looking forward to making this season. It was a fun conversation, so we thought we’d share the results. Below, a non-exhaustive list of things to buy in anticipation of warmer weather, longer days, and walking to get spritzes after work.

Spring-Weight Sweaters
While we’re not ready to put away our chunky knits just yet, we are thinking about adding some lighter-weight options to the mix for those unseasonably warm days we’ll (hopefully) experience soon. Our front-runners: a belted cardigan, a cashmere pullover in candy-apple red, and a preppy polo to layer over a favorite tee.
Crisp Cotton
Menswear-inspired shirting with double-take-worthy details, like a contrasting cuff or an interesting collar. Easy dresses that swish gently around your shins as you stride down the hall. A pair of wide-leg pants in a pretty shade called “vanilla.” Nothing feels fresher—or more classic—than cotton, and these pieces are a gentle reminder of that.

Touches of Suede
With brands like Métier and ATP Atelier releasing their signature styles (a mini tote and a cutout sandal, respectively) in the napped material, it seems that suede will be sticking around for yet another season. We’re not complaining; we love the added texture in our looks.

Light Layers
The key to combatting the chill of dewy spring mornings? A jacket that slips over one of the aforementioned sweaters and can be easily shed once the fog has burned off. If the forecast threatens rain, opt for something that’s water-repellent, like a trench coat or an anorak.

Midseason Pick-Me-Ups
If you live somewhere especially dreary, it might still feel too early to be shopping for anything other than the season you’re in. If that’s the case, consider redirecting any funds toward a piece of jewelry that you can enjoy both now and later. The sparklier, the better.
