5 New Loungewear Brands You’ll Want to Live In
If you’ve put more mileage on your sweats this year than you have on your car, a few upgrades are probably in order. Whether you’re in the market for a matching set, a new pair of joggers, or a noncollegiate crewneck, these are the five loungewear newcomers to know.
After years of developing streetwear for clients—including major players like Yeezy and Fear of God—designer Courtney Ogilvie decided it was time to actualize her own vision: a line of effortlessly cool basics crafted to couture-level standards. From preppy pullovers to ankle-crop sweats, each piece is meticulously cut to flatter all body types and stitched from the softest French terry ever (it’s finished in-house for a cashmere feel). Better still, it’s all garment-dyed in a three-stage process to prevent fading. Translation: These mood-lifting hues are here for a good time and a long time.
Ceres, the Roman goddess of agriculture, is credited with teaching humans how to cultivate and care for the earth. Which is why her moniker (pronounced “series”) is especially fitting for an environmentally minded brand like this one. Not only are its chicified gym-class staples (heather-grey sweats and soft ribbed tanks in muted tones) made entirely of deadstock cotton; they’re also produced on a preorder model, which eliminates unnecessary waste. Even the packaging is thoughtful—it’s minimal and made of all recycled materials.
Velour tracksuits are back. Paying tribute to the rhinestone-embellished ones that ruled the early 2000s, Suzie Kondi—the aviator-wearing Aussie behind the eponymous New York–based label—makes the kind of cool, retro-inflected separates that everyone can get behind. We’re particularly into her signature jewel-tone sweats, which pair as well with sneakers (now) as they will with spiky heels (when going out is safe again).
MATE THE LABEL
The women behind Mate the Label are of the opinion that fashion is a form of wellness, meaning it’s just as important to be mindful about what we put on our bodies as we are about what we put in them. (Hear, hear.) To that end, the brand’s vintage-soft sweatsuits are made from GOTS-certified cotton—which is produced using 87 percent less water than conventional cotton—and without any of the synthetic, potentially endocrine-disrupting chemicals used in traditional manufacturing. The seasonal color selection (turmeric, plum, moss) is a lovely bonus.

This is technically a sleepwear brand, but we’d be remiss not to shout out the team helping us capitalize on meetingless Fridays (not having to camera-on is a fantastic excuse to luxuriate in pj’s all day). Created by the woman behind Agent Provacateur, Les Girls Les Boys is an equal and opposite reaction to the heart-poundingly sexy designs of her past, characterized by bespoke fabrics and classic, comfortable silhouettes that transition from dreamland to real life with a few strategic styling moves.
