How We Wear It

The G. Label Sydney Anorak

Despite the city’s sunny reputation, even LA experiences the WTF-is-happening weather of springtime. One solution: Keeping a light layer handy—and the funnel-neck tech-cotton top from this month’s G. Label drop is becoming a fast favorite among staffers. Here, three different ways to wear it, demonstrated by three accommodating coworkers.

“I love this anorak. It’s like a pullover, a jacket, and a shell, all rolled up into one ready-for-anything piece. I’ve been pairing it with navy wide-legs to approximate a set, which really helps the rest of the look—beautiful leather sandals, a few swipes of mascara, a sleek tote—fall into place. Plus, the monochrome trick works in any season: Once summer hits, I’ll just swap in these shorts.”

“Pullovers and pockets are two of my favorite things, which is probably why Ali sent me an early photo of this G. Label piece. At first, I thought the front flap was going to be just for show, but you can comfortably stash things in it, like a card case, so you have your hands free at the farmers’ market. The material reminds me of the soccer track suits I loved wearing growing up—it’s the right texture for in-between spring weather.”

“After the requisite wardrobe assessment prompted by my recent move, I decided that I need to expand my outerwear horizons. (Packing up six slightly different jean jackets will really make you question everything.) I used to think anoraks were exclusively for people who like to hike in the rain or rappel down sheer cliffs for fun. Turns out they’re great for not-exactly-outdoorsy types, too.”
