Summer Dressing:
Love Letters from around the Globe
From Milan to Copenhagen to London, we asked some of the chicest women we know how they approach dressing for the season. Turns out, great summer style is a language these three speak fluently. The dialects may vary by postal code, but the overarching themes—ease, simplicity, joy—are universal.

TAMU McPHERSON
EDITOR AND DIGITAL CONTENT CREATOR
MILAN
“Because I live in Europe, I always get to go back to New York in August for Ferragosto, when all of Italy goes on holiday,” says the editor-cum-content-creator behind the style site All the Pretty Birds. “Since I love fashion, I get inspired by travel and tend to adapt to my location: When I’m in Capri, I go for glamorous, flowy pieces. When I’m in the Hamptons, I focus my colorful looks around specific activities, like tennis or garden parties. I love being a chameleon and getting inspired by the energy of each place.”

LAURA FANTACCI
EDITOR AND WARDROBE ICONS COFOUNDER
LONDON
“I was born and raised in Italy, so summer is my season—which is why I often find myself wondering why I chose to live in the UK,” says the discerning eye behind the curated fashion hub Wardrobe Icons. “It’s the simple pleasures for me: bare legs, alfresco suppers, rosé with mozzarella e pomodoro. My body aches for these things—aches! I’m not usually one for prints, but this time of year, I’m obsessed. Floral dresses are staples, and I also wear a lot more jewelry, especially necklaces. I recently had my hair cut, and I wear one of my favorite braided headbands as a finishing touch. And I can’t wait to wear my emerald-green suit, which we designed exclusively with Cossie + Co.”

PERNILLE TEISBAEK
STYLIST AND CREATIVE DIRECTOR
COPENHAGEN
“Summer for me means spending time outside with my family, being more spontaneous, and enjoying late nights by the sea or taking in the vibrant buzz of the city, which no longer feels like a ghost town,” says the Danish stylist whose name is synonymous with Scandinavian cool. “I tend to go from lots of layering to less layering—but still layering. Darker tones change to brighter shades. All my looks are paired with my Gia x Pernille sandals, and I definitely lean on shorts and easy tanks.”
