From Adventure Kits to Outdoor Fits,
How to Make the Most of the
Season’s Best Pastimes
In partnership with our friends at Dudley Stephens
As much as we’d like to spend the entire weekend watching Stanley Tucci eat his way through Italy, blue skies have arrived. Meaning it’s time to get outside. We put together a catalog of warm-weather activities you might find yourself dabbling in this season—plus all the trappings to go with, like performance-minded pieces for paddling and marinière stripes for picnicking.
Maybe the easiest way to unwind after hours glued to screens is with the sun on your face, the wind in your hair, and—yes—an insulated wine tote slung over your shoulder. You’d be surprised how well a bell-sleeve tunic and a flash of gold can pull a whole look together.
We can’t think of anything more idyllic than an afternoon spent gliding across tranquil water—and it’s a great workout, too. For maximum sun protection (with minimal effort on your part), a surf suit and anything wide-brimmed fit the bill. Don’t forget (clean!) SPF.
The most enjoyable way to get outside, get moving, and get your crew involved while maintaining a safe distance? A game of pickle. You’ll need the gear (balls, paddles, etc.), the pro-level shoes (no scuffs, no problems), and the on-brand separates that look the part on—or off—the court.
PACK A PICNIC
Wine and cheese, sandwiches and seltzer—however you like it, picnics are an unbeatable way to spend a lazy day. Other obligatory provisions: a blanket, a favorite sundress, your goop Book Club read (have you picked up The Secret Lives of Church Ladies yet?), and a weighs-next-to-nothing carryall to pack it all in.
Prepping for the trail is about packing as light as possible while still covering all your bases (i.e., keeping your water, phone, and bug spray close at hand). A sweat-wicking set is perhaps the most streamlined way to take on a trek, while a hardworking pack will free up hands for scenic nature snaps or, you know, consulting AllTrails if you veer off track and need to find your way back.
