The Making of goop mrkt
We realized our long-time dream of a NYC brick-and-mortar last week with the opening of goop mrkt in The Shops at Columbus Circle at Time Warner Center. In accordance with goop tradition, we collaborated with one of our favorite interior design teams to bring the space to life: Roman and Williams, led by design power couple Stephen Alesch and Robin Standefer, helped us build a space that is equal parts relaxed and refined, complete with perfectly-sourced antiques, gorgeous custom cabinetry, and a full-on street mural from Italian artist Solo that’s a pretty fitting backdrop to our Valentino x goop collaboration. While the store takes its bow on December 24th, we’ve packed out the schedule of events in the interim, from wreath-making to beauty touch-ups to happy hours. Please come by and say hi between 10am and 10pm daily.

Who says you need ceilings for crown molding? Best & Co. created extra texture with layers of grey millwork.

Our incredible general contractor Best & Co. ripped out the dropped ceilings for an exposed, industrial (sky-high) feel.

The central shelving unit, from Roman and Williams’ furniture line, is a true labor of love: Brooklyn-based Argosy Designs, Inc. handled the custom steel scaffolding, while New England fabricators VCA, Inc. made the base from reclaimed white oak.
