Tried-and-True Staples That Last Forever

In partnership with our friends at TENCELTM

At goop, we’re always looking for the cleanest ingredients and the most sustainable materials that result in durable, luxurious staples (for the home, the closet, the medicine cabinet—you name it) we can love for a lifetime. TENCEL, for example, fits the bill because it’s made from some of the most responsibly sourced fibers out there. We also started asking each other for more favorites with staying power. Here, six of goop’s own came through with their ride-or-dies.

    1. eileen fisher white tee

“There is nothing more timeless than a classic white tee (no breaking news here), and it’s always exciting when you find one that fits and hugs you perfectly. I love this Eileen Fisher one because the sleeves are flattering (something that can be a struggle with tees), it’s boxy and easy, and the TENCEL Lyocell jersey is really lightweight and comfortable.” —Sandra Slusarczyk, associate fashion editor

EILEEN FISHER WHITE TEE, Eileen Fisher, $98

    1. Boyish Jeans

“These Boyish jeans are high-waisted with a relaxed, straight-leg fit—basically, loose in all the right places. And the lighter wash is perfect for spring and
summer. I’m wearing mine with an oversize button-down, Converse sneakers, and a bucket hat. Added bonus: They’re made of TENCEL Lyocell, which is soft, breathable, and one of the most sustainable options out there.” —Sarah Rose, senior stylist

    BOYISH JEANS, Boyish, $168

    1. ziip ox set

“A few of my goop friends mentioned to me how the ZIIP dramatically changed their skin, so I had to try. It’s an amazing nanocurrent device that has nine different treatments that target everything from dullness to breakouts to puffiness. It gives my cheekbones and jawlines definition, which is a big win. My skin looks better, brighter, and clearer each time I use it, and I can’t imagine going without it for too long.” —Samantha Saiyavongsa, senior programming manager

ZIIP ZIIP OX + CRYSTAL GEL KIT, goop, $480

    1. bala bangles weighted bangles

“Before Bala Bangles, I’d never owned weights, and I’d certainly never been passionate about weights. But these one-pounders are in it for the long haul with me. I wrap the bangles around my wrists and ankles during all kinds of mat classes. And you know I have the newly launched three-pound Bala Bars sitting in my goop cart right now—also destined to be forever workout staples.” —Kiki Koroshetz, editorial wellness director

    1. goop Exclusive S'WELL Water Bottle

“Pre-2020, I traveled a ton. For me, zipping through the airport with a durable (and chic) carry-on is the way to go. I have long been obsessed with my Paravel Aviator, a carbon-neutral suitcase designed to last. And when you spend so much time on the move, familiar comforts become paramount. For me, it’s tea. I go nowhere without a stash of my beloved chamomile (which I find calming) and green tea (for a caffeine boost). This handy insulated S’well bottle keeps my brew warm and within easy spill-free reach. Better still, it lasts forever.” —Rachael McKeon, travel editor

    1. staub Round Cocotte

“Cast iron is beloved by many for good reason—it’s not only sturdy but, when it comes to heat dispersion and retention, nothing can beat it. Staub cast-iron enamel pieces will give you all the same benefits of cast-iron cooking, but because they’re so much easier to care for, they will surely last a lifetime. I like this big seven-quart cocotte (ever so slightly different from a Dutch oven, but you use them the exact same way). Between Sunday red sauce, crusty sourdough boules, whole roast chickens, and bubbling pots of posole, I don’t think I’ll ever run out of uses for this beauty.” —Caitlin O’Malley, food director
