Claridge’s Tea Room
Brook Street, Mayfair
Live piano and violin (sometimes even a double bass) accompany the much-acclaimed tea menus here. You'll find a variety of small-batch Tregothnan English Estate blends, which are the perfect companion to the finger sandwiches, warm scones, and clotted cream. Their famous Marco Polo jelly is not to be missed, neither is a walk through the Art Deco lobby to check out the stunning sweeping staircase.
32 Dover St., Mayfair
The cold-pressed juices at this Dover Street café fly off the shelves every morning, fueling the days for the art gallerists, fashion buyers, and hedge fund managers who work nearby. While they're out the door within a matter of minutes, others tend to stay and enjoy their almond milk lattes (quite possibly the best in town) at the communal table at this cheery, healthy hideaway. There's also WiFi, which means the whole place is often abuzz with business meetings.
The Garden Café
4 Brown Hart Gardens, Mayfair
Run by Benugo—a chain that's associated with many of the city's museums—this secluded café, near Selfridges and the new Beaumont Hotel, is a true gem. Sheltered under a sleek glass pavilion, on an outdoor terrace planted with perennials, the cafe overlooks the quiet Mayfair neighborhood below. It's a pretty idyllic place to take a break from the crowds on Oxford circus, just a block away.
