Behind a high brick wall of what used to be an old Victorian school (large glass doors open up to the playground in summer), you’ll find a bright open space dotted with long wooden communal tables. The daily, seasonal menu is served to an artistic and fashionable East London lunch crowd, and the BYO booze policy keeps the atmosphere refreshingly chill. One of the owners, Margot Henderson, is the wife of Fergus Henderson of the St. John conglomerate—the restaurants share a similar feel and concept.
