This quick and easy hummus is a great base recipe, and you probably already have all the ingredients in your kitchen. It’s great as is, but feel free to dress it up with different spices, blend in roasted beets, or top with toasted pine nuts and chile oil.

Serves 4

1 15-ounce can chipckpeas, drained and rinsed

½ lemon

small garlic clove, minced

¾ teaspoon salt

3 tablespoons water

3 tablespoons tahini

3 tablespoons olive oil

½ teaspoon ground cumin

1. Blend all ingredients together.

2. Adjust salt and lemon to taste, and add water to reach desired texture.
