Hemp Seed Milk
Hemp milk is kind of an acquired taste, but these little seeds are packed with protein, essential fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals. We blend ours with a little coconut oil, salt, and a couple of dates to help cut the grassy flavor.
½ cup raw shelled hemp seeds
2 cups water
2 tablespoons date syrup (or 2 pitted medjool dates)
1 tablespoon coconut oil
1. If using the excellent and insanely simple Soyabella machine, follow directions for making raw nut milk by pouring water into the carafe and placing hemp seeds in the milk screen. Run the mill function 3 times. Blend finished milk with coconut oil, salt, and dates for added flavor.
2. If using a standard blender, blitz all ingredients until smooth. Pour through a fine mesh strainer and store in the fridge for up to two days.
