Air Fryer Root Veggie Fries
There’s no competing with a real french fry. This is a different game. We like the idea of changing it up and diversifying our fry habit with some nutritious root vegetables. The air fryer keeps these veggie fries pleasantly crispy, and they go so well with Old Bay seasoning.
1. Peel and slice your root veggies. Slice them on the thin side—no more than ¼-inch thick.
2. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F. Toss the root veggies with the avocado oil and spread them evenly in a single layer in the air fryer. Cook for about 15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. (You’ll be able to open the air fryer easily to check them as you go, so don’t worry about exact timing—it’s a very forgiving process.)
3. Remove the fries and preheat the air fryer to 375°F. Sprinkle the fries generously with Old Bay, and once the air fryer is preheated, pop them in for about 3 minutes, checking carefully to make sure they don’t burn—you just want to finish them with some added crispiness.
4. Once done to your liking, remove and serve with your favorite dipping sauces.
