If you’re desperate to beat the traffic (and hammer your wallet), you could take a helicopter with BLADE. But until now, there was really no middle ground between cheap and extortionate, and that’s where Rove comes in. The service sits somewhere between Uber and a private car service: You book a seat online and share the ride to the Hamptons with a few others for the reasonable price of $65 ($75 for Montauk). Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans depart regularly from the Sixty SoHo Hotel or the William Vale in Brooklyn and make stops East Hampton, Southampton, Bridgehampton, Sag Harbor, Amagansett, and Montauk. It’s a winner.
