Aesthetician Danna Omari’s approach to lifting and plumping skin is unique—she starts with the inside of your mouth. The technique, known as a buccal massage, starts with a light cleanse, then moves to an hour of deep tissue massage that includes facial cupping (it’s gentle enough that it doesn’t leave marks), a firm, gua sha-like massage of the external facial muscles, and a twenty-minute massage for the inside of your mouth. Omari’s fingers simultaneously massage the exterior and interior cheek muscles, which at first feels odd and somewhat dentist-like, but as the muscles in your face start to relax, it feels amazing.
