While the home-cooked food at La Taverna degli Amici is everything you’d want from a Roman trattoria (including an especially standout pizza menu), this place is all about the atmosphere. Right on the edge of the Ancient City and the Ghetto, you’ll know it from the dramatic ivy climbing up the side of the rustic-looking building. Inside, there are stunning wooden beams, cozy brick arches, and gentle candlelight on the tables, but if you can, ask for a table on the greenery-filled patio, under the shade of one of their wide, white umbrellas.
