In collaboration with renowned architect Annabelle Selldorf (the designer behind Hauser & Wirth, the Neue Galerie, and currently The Frick renovation), New York gallerist Marianne Boesky has converted an old 19th-century cabin into what’s now Boesky West. The space—a mix of old and new—suits Aspen perfectly, the converted cabin is connected to a new, more industrial building with a wall of glass that links the two spaces. The structure blends in seamlessly with the rustic, time-worn architecture of the town, but with a contemporary edge. The inaugural exhibit this past spring featured mixed media works and sculpture pieces by American artists Frank Stella and Larry Bell. Aside from revolving exhibits and installations, Boesky West will play host to a residency program for curators, historians, and writers throughout the year. Images courtesy of David O. Marlow.
