Here, extra-long, swingy straps—held in place by silver D-rings—play up an otherwise classic black dress. Floor-grazing with a subtly A-line silhouette, it’s cut from an ethereal fabric that skims the figure without clinging. With a deep V-neck and a plunging back, it’s an understatedly elegant way to show some skin.
Lee Mathews, former illustrator and art director for Vogue Australia, started her eponymous label almost unintentionally, sewing clothes for herself and her friends while sitting in her kitchen. It has since evolved into a quietly impressive, five-drops-per-year operation, turning out swingy shirtdresses and top-stitched separates that are beautiful, functional and—best of all—timeless.
