A minimal take on the fedora, this hat is made from stiffened bao straw that holds its shape. It has a classic pinched crown and a wide, flat brim with a raw edge—the kind of quietly cool detail Janessa Leone does best. Pair it with a cotton dress on your next trip to the flea market.
It all started with a vintage fedora that founder Janessa Leoné purchased during a trip to Paris—stamped inside were the milliner’s initials and, serendipitously, it turned out that his last name was also Leone. Leoné took it as a sign. More than a decade later, her eponymous brand has grown from a small millinery label into a full-fledged accessories line, making similarly long-lasting, timeless pieces. We first fell in love with the straw and wool hats, but today the line also includes luxurious leather goods and sumptuously soft knits. Since its inception, the brand has been committed to sourcing materials responsibly from farms and production facilities around the world—Los Angeles, New York, Pennsylvania, Madagascar, and Ecuador.
