Color — Beige/Tan
Hereu takes inspiration from the lifestyle of the Spanish Mediterranean, and the local artisans bring the designs to life. Escalo is crafted from canvas with hand-stitched calf leather trim, upholding the traditional techniques of the region. The contrast of the fibrous texture against the buttery soft leather is both pleasant to the touch and visually intriguing—and colorwise, the caramel hue of the leather adds depth to beige cotton. So while this crossbody (sized for essentials and a few extra items) is effectively neutral, it’s also quite eye-catching.
Hereu (the Catalan word for “heir”) specializes in handcrafted shoes and accessories made by local artisans in Spain. It was founded by two friends, José Luis Bartolomé and Albert Escribano, who, after spending years in London and Paris, wanted to return to their Mediterranean roots. Their designs fuse modern designs with hundred-year-old craft traditions—we’re particularly fond of the signature canvas carryalls with round leather handles.
