A converted barn in Bridgehampton is the home of SoulCycle’s latest endeavor, SoulAnnex—classes that take things off the bike and onto the mat. But don’t think that means sessions are easy—they’re still taught by SoulCycle’s high-energy, motivating instructors that regulars have come to know and trust. Classes include Torch’d, which uses body resistance, free weights, and dance for a strength-focused workout, and Housework, a Pilates-meets-high-intensity-cardio session. But there’s also Reset, a forty-five-minute guided meditation class that’s all about stillness, peace, and tranquility, and Le Stretch, meant to lengthen and relax worn-out muscles and joints.

The Class by Taryn Toomey
264 Butter Ln., Bridgehampton
Taryn Toomey has finally made it to the Hamptons, setting up shop in a light-filled barn in Bridgehampton. The vaguely named class is hard to define exactly, but you can expect this: seventy-five minutes of intense movement, which includes screaming, shaking, and yelling to release emotional energy. You will get a pretty incredible workout in the process, thanks to the burpees, planks, leg lifts, and squats thrown in. There’s also a fair bit of yoga, for good measure. Fans of Toomey’s new Tribeca studio will notice the same attention to detail in Bridgehampton: bronze light fixtures by Kelly Wearstler and crystal lighting by Christopher Boots throughout the whitewashed space, set off by the signature scent of palo santo. For those who want to release emotional energy in private, house calls are available. Photos: Jaimie Baird
