Trainer and former New York City Rockette Amanda Kloots brings her love of staying in shape—and having fun along the way to three of her signature hour-long classes—the Dance, the Rope, and the Body—at Bandier Studio B. The Rope focuses on high-energy jump roping (it burns 10 calories a minute while toning your body) and her easy-to-do-at-home moves include everything from standing side crunches and jump overs to stability lunges. The Dance zeroes in on what Amanda does best—and the constantly changing cardio dance sweat session ensures it never gets too repetitive even if you drop into class a couple times a week. She uses the see-and-follow method for guiding you through class, which sounds intimidating, but totally works. Her latest offering is The Body, which is modeled after her private classes—it’s a mix of upbeat dance moves, plus a toning series on the mat. (Be prepared to s-w-e-a-t.)
