Beverly Hot Springs
308 N. Oxford Ave., Koreatown
This is a traditional Korean bath house, situated over the city's only natural hot springs, fueled by a 105 degree artesian well below the city. We love to come and soak, though they offer a full roster of massages and body work.
434 N. Larchmont Blvd., Hancock Park
Also known as the sweat lodge, this spot, which boasts a pretty major Hollywood following, is exactly that. Equipped with small, cozy rooms where you get into an infrared bed, the idea is that you sweat it out for 60 minutes at a time, while you watch TV, read, or listen to music. People tend to sign up for memberships and come several times a month (or week) and complement the sessions with lymphatic drainage, which is meant to boost the detox process. There's also a location in Santa Monica, and one in Pasadena.
2700 Wilshire Blvd., Koreatown
Fans of traditional Korean spas—kids included—tend to feel right at home here, with its clean, meditative "Jimjilbang" communal room, it's spacious, super hot saunas, and its no-nonsense massages and body scrubs. Head to the sauna, get a massage, and your nails done, too.
