Julia Bower, C.N.M., R.N., M.S.N., is a nurse midwife with a private homebirth practice in Austin, Texas. Following a B.A. in Human Biology from Stanford and M.A. in Latin American Studies from the University of Texas at Austin, Bower studied nursing at Johns Hopkins, served as a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse, and got a graduate degree in Nurse Midwifery from the University of New Mexico. In addition to providing full scope midwifery care to clients, Bower trains student midwives.
