Fresh, Summery Recipes from Two of Our Favorite Clean Beauty Gurus
We love cookbooks here at goop. With so many great new ones hitting the shelves each month, it can be hard to keep up, so we’ve created the goop Cookbook Club. When we find one we can’t put down, we pick a few favorite recipes for you to try at home. Want to join the cookbook club? Instagram your creations from the new book, tag @goop and #goopcookbookclub, and we’ll regram our favorites.
From the first day we stumbled into Kerrilynn Pamer and Cindy DiPrima Morisse’s tiny CAP Beauty storefront in the West Village, we wanted: everything. The coconut butters, the mysterious adaptogenic powders, the clean-beauty essentials, and the always-incredible advice of the company’s glowy founders couldn’t align more precisely with our guiding principles at goop. With the launch of High Vibrational Beauty: Recipes and Rituals for Radical Self Care, Pamer and DiPrima Morisse have created a gorgeously visual, super helpful guide to living a healthy, happy, beautiful life. There’s so much to it: Their Rolodex of go-to practitioners, their clean-beauty manifesto, a guide to energy clearing, and, of course, the recipes. Divided into seasons and interspersed with notes on rituals, they’re beautifully photographed, easy to follow, and absolutely delicious.
“This drink has a surprising earthy sweetness and brightness. Tiger nuts are tiny—and deliciously sweet—root vegetables that are packed with prebiotics. So this is a good-for-your-gut tonic that’s actually nut-free. If tiger nuts are out of reach, swap in coconut flakes (no need to soak) or your favorite nut or seed. For a creamier texture, mix in our Coconut Butter.”
Summer Loving Raw Tart
“Quite possibly my favorite recipe in the book, this raw tomato tart bursts with umami. It satisfies in ways I can’t fully explain. If you don’t have a dehydrator, use the oven; if you don’t have the time, swap the crust for a pack or three of Moon Juice’s Chard Cumin Crisps or Green Fermented Seed Crisps. But be sure to try making the long version at some point, as well. Summer comes alive in every bite.” —Cindy DiPrima Morisse
Our Way Poke
“Poke is a salty-sweet balancing act that hits all the right notes and delivers us straight to summer. The traditional version is made with raw fish. Ours swaps in marinated papaya while cauliflower rice adds crunch. This is a perfect colorful, clean summer lunch. With it, we say mahalo to the plants.”
