Small Bites and Snacks
We’re big snackers, but have been trying to improve what we reach for to ensure that they are packed with real nutrition. It’s no good to grab a handful of chips, so we have devised these super easy, healthy small bites. They also make good appetizers/party food.

Chickpea Salsa
Protein from the chickpeas sates between-meal hunger in this bean salad meets salsa. Pack in a jar for convenient snacking.

Avocado on Rice Cracker
Super healthy avocado, with the right kind of fat and lots of fiber to fill you up, and yogurt, good for you in all sorts of ways, makes this a smart and delicious midday snack.

Tapenade on Rice Cracker
Smashed olives, capers and anchovies spread on a rice cracker is a great gluten-free snack to hold you over until lunch or dinner.

Slow-Bake Kale Chips
We love kale chips, which are as satisfying as potato chips but much better for you. This recipe takes it slow, cooking it at a low temp for longer to get an evenly baked chip.

Almond Butter
High in protein, almond butter is easy to make. Serve with fruits, veggies or rice crackers or add to a smoothie for a great pre or post workout snack.

Spicy Tuna on Crispy Rice
Ubiquitous on the LA sushi scene, we skip the deep frying for a light sear in these little morsels and top with the freshest (omega-3 packed) tuna possible. This is perfect small bite for entertaining.

Caponata Toast
This classic Sicilian dish is best served on grilled bread at room temperature once flavors have had a chance to mingle.

Bite-Size Chicken Caprese
Caprese meets chicken parm…in a bite. These are also fun to skewer.
