Inside Our 15th Anniversary Dinner Party in Palm Beach
Created with CartierOn a pleasantly balmy evening in Palm Beach earlier this month, 60 well-dressed guests pulled in, one by one, to the porte cochere at the Colony Hotel. They were there to celebrate goop’s 15th anniversary and preview the new goop villa. The evening—planned by goop and Cartier, which recently made a permanent home out of its seasonal boutique at the Royal Poinciana Plaza, with help from Muniak Studios—was, as we’d hoped it would be, a pretty fabulous affair.
Upon arrival, each guest was handed a miniature bottle of Cartier champagne to sip as they toured the villa. Designed by Gwyneth and interior design firm Ronen Lev, the 2,524-square-foot space (you can take a full tour here) fuses the clean, light goop aesthetic with the luxe-yet-laid-back feeling of Palm Beach. No detail—from the exquisite handmade Fromental wallpaper to the shiny Monogram range (GP insisted on including one; she’s “obsessed” with hers)—was spared.
After much oohing and aahing, the guests were seated for dinner at Swifty’s, the on-site restaurant, under a lush canopy of greenery and twinkling lights. The tables—draped with fuchsia tablecloths and set with flowers, glowing table lamps, and custom menus on Cartier stationery—stretched from end to end of the hanging garden. Gwyneth (wearing a custom G. Label jumpsuit and Cartier jewelry) and Colony owner Sarah Wetenhall (in G. Label, Erdem, and Cartier) toasted their partnership, and Gwyneth reflected on goop’s milestone anniversary.
“Fifteen years is a long time in building a company, being a founder and an entrepreneur. There are so many hard seasons and so many rewards,” she said, her hand on her heart. “We have a long way to go still, but I’m really, really proud of where we’ve gotten to, and I couldn’t have done it without a lot of the people in this room.”
