A Simple Summery Dinner
The best thing about summer produce is that it doesn’t require much cooking. When it’s this hot outside, that’s exactly what you want. Perfectly ripe tomatoes, sweet corn, fresh herbs—these ingredients need little in the way of manipulation to taste their absolute best. So we put together a clean and simple menu designed to let summer’s bounty shine (and to keep you, Chef, cool, calm, and collected). The only thing missing is a good bottle of rosé…or two.
Creamy ranch is good on everything, but on perfectly ripe tomatoes, it’s sublime.
All it takes is salt, pepper, olive oil, and a few minutes under the broiler. So simple and so good.
This grain salad is light yet filling, and the leftovers pack up easily to make a satisfying lunch.
Almonds, blackberries, and nectarines are a match made in summer heaven, but this recipe also works well with apples, pears, rhubarb, or any other fruit, depending on the season.
