Easy Crowd-Pleasing Desserts
Unless you’re a real baking enthusiast, making dessert for a dinner party can often feel like more trouble than it’s worth (cue the ice cream). While we’re big fans of buying a tart or serving a simple bowl of fruit for dessert, we also know it can be fun and satisfying to whip something up from scratch. So, we came up with four really good, mostly make-ahead desserts that will impress your guests without stressing you out.
Meyer Lemon Eton Mess
Eton mess is a classic English dessert comprised of whipped cream, crushed meringues, and berries. For our version, we fold homemade lemon curd into the cream for extra flavor and use store-bought meringues for ease. It’s heavenly.
Salted Butterscotch Pudding
Our easy version of a classic Italian butterscotch budino, this sweet and salty dessert can be made up to two days in advance.
Almond & Buttermilk Panna Cotta with Rhubarb Compote
The hint of almond extract really brings together the flavors of tangy buttermilk and tart-sweet rhubarb in this easy spring dessert.
Affogato
So easy you really don’t need a recipe, this elegant Italian dessert is such a classy way to end a meal.
