But in place of the MSG-laden, refined sugar-packed, gluten-heavy standard, we’ve clean-hacked some of our favorite takeout dishes, ditching the gluten and cheap cooking oil, and replacing it with quality ingredients and simple, flavorful sauces. This easy Chinese feast—crunchy scallion pancakes, sticky kung pao chicken, spicy roasted eggplant, and gingery-y broccolini—does such a good job of satisfying takeout cravings, it’s bound to become a new Christmas Eve tradition.
