Il Buco Al Mare
231 Main St., Amagansett
NYC staple Il Buco has landed in East Hampton. In a nod to Il Buco’s sister restaurant in Ibiza, Bottega il Buco, you’ll notice tinned fish like Spanish anchovies, grilled whole mackerel, and tons more seafood goodness on the menu. What are we eating? Fava beans flecked with pecorino and goat cheese, fluke Crudo, and blistered prawns. Reservations essential. Images courtesy of Noe Dewitt.
Rosie’s Amagansett
195 Main St., Amagansett
Rosie's is set to become a mandatory all-day spot in the Hamptons. And indeed, après a long, salty day on the sand and in the water, mussels in a cider broth, blistered chicken, and chilled rosé set us straight.
Coche Comedor
74A Montauk Hwy., Amagansett
Produce from their own nearby gardens, sangrias on tap, and an extensive margarita menu with bold flavors like prickly pear are on the menu.
Wölffer Kitchen Amagansett
4 Amagansett Sq. Dr., Amagansett
Given the popularity of their first restaurant in Sag Harbor, it seemed only natural the Wölffers opened a second outpost. The Amagansett location has a more casual, communal feel with a rosé-fueled menu that focuses on fresh, shareable dishes like Peconic oysters, ahi tuna tacos, and zucchini noodles.
Moby’s (Closed)
341 Pantigo Rd., Amagansett
While there’s a more formal dining room up front at this summer-only pop-up, we like the great open-air patio out back best. It’s dotted with picnic benches and lounge areas, along with an on-site wood-burning pizza oven. The wait for food can be a bit insane, but if you don’t mind killing time over cocktails, it’s a good option for a low-key night out. For a relaxed brunch, check out the more relaxed Moby's Market.
Clam Bar
2025 Montauk Hwy., Amagansett
For those nights when you want to indulge in all things fried, this roadside stand with plastic chairs and paper plates is the place to go. It's a total institution that's been serving fried clams, lobster rolls, clam chowder, and more to families for over 30 years.
Hampton Chutney Co.
107 Newton Ln., East Hampton
This is a classic stop in Amagansett thanks to their trademark chutneys and delicious dosas. Order to-go and take them on the beach.
La Fondita
74 Montauk Hwy., Amagansett
This is a great snack stop for casual and authentic Mexican dishes like tacos, tortas, and sopa de tortilla. The food is all freshly made, including the tortillas.
