Sweet Rose Creamery
225 26th St., Brentwood
As far as we’re concerned, Josh and Zoe Loeb can do no wrong—their adorable ice cream shop, which is a partnership with Shiho Yoshikawa (she used to work with Zoe at Tartine), only strengthens their case. Shiho picks up ingredients for her inventive flavors at the Santa Monica farmers market, and her milk and eggs are from local purveyors as well. Favorites include matcha, fig, and goat cheese, and the old-fashioned strawberry, which tastes fresh off the vine. Because this is LA, there are dairy-free options; if that’s your vibe, definitely try the horchata. The original is at the Brentwood Country Mart, but now they have locations all over the city: Studio City, West Hollywood, Santa Monica, and the Palisades.

This organic take-away spot on Barrington offers delicious sliders (turkey, grass-fed, hormone-free beef, etc.) and loads of well turned-out veggie sides. It's the perfect fix for a hearty take-away when you feel like something warm and a little more substantial for lunch. There's also a location on the main drag in the Palisades.

This soup cleanse-centric company has a little kiosk near the Brentwood Country Mart, though most of their business is done via delivery. A day on Soupure includes a combination of veggie soups, really nourishing bone broths, super hydrating alkaline water drinks, and chilled snacks. The way the cleanse is spaced out, you end up drinking or eating something every other hour, so there’s really no opportunity to feel hungry. Plus, instead of slamming a bottle of greens, we actually sat down and savored the food. The chicken bone miso broth was incredibly satisfying, the zucchini basil lunch was surprisingly hearty, and the Superhero nuts and seeds blend, which we had for breakfast, tasted better than most desserts. They have one, three, and five-day options along with a mini three-day cleanse that allows for a solid dinner.

This is nothing more than a simple food stand in the Brentwood Country Mart, but it's insanely good (and for us, steeped in nostalgia). The moist, perfectly-seasoned rotisserie chicken basket comes with plenty of barbecue dipping sauce, and fries that are absolutely worth the shot to the arteries. We've never heard a kid complain about the chicken tender basket, either. Don't be deterred by the lines: They move fast.

Beaming is most famous as a smoothie shop (the Rockstar is a goop staff favorite), but its whole-food cleanses are extraordinarily powerful. There are one- and three-day options available, but customers can expand up to as much as a three-week cleanse for a full-on reboot. Each day includes one of the superfood smoothies, followed by cold-pressed juices, shots, and raw soups and salads. The bride-to-be program gives brides (along with their grooms, bridesmaids, mothers) a clean countdown to the big day. In addition the Brentwood location, there are outposts in Santa Monica and West Hollywood.
Kreation Juicery Brentwood
151 S Barrington Pl., Brentwood
The people behind Kreation Café, a certified green eatery specializing in dishes made from local farmers market produce, have applied the same philosophy to their juice bar. Juices are made with 100% organic fruits and veggies purchased within the same zip code. The result is deliciously fresh juice for whatever you're craving or need (detox, energy, etc.). They also have "juicemobiles" for those who can't make it to one of their brick and mortar locations (Venice, Marina del Rey, North Beverly Hills, Beverly Hills, and the Valley), and cold-pressed juices and cleanses you can order online.

This place serves some of the best coffee on the West Side, including real Northern Italian style espresso, and delicious lattes and cappuccinos with what they call “milk foam art.” It can be difficult to find a seat during rush hours, but if you do grab one, it’s a lovely place to linger. They also have locations in Malibu off the PCH and in Santa Monica on Montana.
Brentwood Farmers Market
741 S. Gretna Green Way, Brentwood
No matter if you're visiting and don't have a fridge to stock: Beyond the fruit and veggie stands, this neighborhood farmers' market offers all sorts of organic prepared foods, like gluten- and dairy-free treats from Coco Bakes, hummus from Mom's, and amazing fresh tamales. There's also a petting zoo for the kids.

The packaging is so rad, the chocolate bars here are like a gift you don't want to open. If you do crack into them though, you'll find that they're excellent, and all pioneered by one of the country's youngest chocolatiers. (Compartes also has another location on Melrose.)
