When Celeste Markey and Elizabeth Rickard Shah (a brilliant duo with a combined forty years of fashion design and marketing experience) set out to create Careste, it was with the intention to form a luxury brand that would be an active participant in the movement to end fashion waste. Every piece from their label is crafted from fine, soft-on-skin natural fibers that break down easily (like wool, silk, and cotton), and Careste employs an on-demand, direct-to-consumer business model, which eliminates the middlemen—and, ultimately, tons of excess waste.
