For the ultimate “sexy mature” (her term) glow, podcast and TV host and media company founder Keltie Knight recommends both face scrubs and orgasms. “Everything helps,” she laughs. She coined “sexy mature” when she turned 40 as a way to celebrate aging instead of fearing it. “Even though getting older means grey hair, gravitationally challenged body parts, and wrinkles, it also means a point in my life where I have a 401(k), a mortgage, a bunch of handbags that cost way too much, and the knowledge and confidence of a woman who has been through it,” she says. “I’m kinda old, but I’m also super sexy—sexy mature.”
Between running two different media companies—LadyGang, which handles her hit podcast, e-comm store, books, and tours, and Yacht Money Productions, which produces TV projects, including Knight’s upcoming CBS prime-time music series, Superfan—and being a “wife, dog mom, and person who has been renovating her kitchen for over a year with no end in sight,” Knight has little time for an extensive skin-care routine.
That said, she firmly believes that whenever something in life isn’t going her way, “a bath and an at-home facial treatment can make everything better.”
goop Beauty GOOPGLOW Afterglow Body Oilgoop, $48/$43 with subscription
One of my favorite rituals is slathering my body in a beautiful oil during my nighttime routine. I have no idea what magical goopness is in this formula, but somehow it absorbs quickly and doesn’t stick to your pj’s and sheets but, at the same time, actually softens skin and really lasts. Waking up and still feeling the fantasy of soft skin 12 hours later—it’s better than anything else.
goop Beauty GOOPGLOW Dark Spot Exfoliating Sleep Milkgoop, $98/$89 with subscription
There are truly not enough hours in the day for me to do everything I need to do, which is why I love that this product works while I’m resting. I put it on before bed, and when I wake up, it looks and feels like I got a fresh facial in my sleep. Dead, dull skin, begone. When I’m overworked and under-rested, I love this treatment. I also like it as a 20-minute treatment before I have a big event and plan to have my makeup done—it really sets a nice clean base for my glam.
Sunday Riley C.E.O. Glow Vitamin C and Turmeric Face OilSunday Riley, $80
If I could get this oil on tap in my bathroom, I would. Both my husband and I love the C.E.O. Glow, even though I’m the only CEO in the house (girl power!). I love the way this feels on my skin, and I swear it instantly depuffs and brightens my face. It stays where I put it and absorbs beautifully.
goop Beauty GOOPGLOW Microderm Instant Glow Exfoliatorgoop, $125/$112 with subscription
I firmly believe that most of the bad choices I make in my life can be scrubbed off, somehow, with the right product. I love getting professional-grade microderm treatments at a spa before big events, but this home version works just as well. It’s the right intensity—gets rid of all the dead skin, but without being too harsh. Plus, I love the smell (pretty “sexy mature”).
