  4. As we discovered when we started testing them, the G.Tox products are as brilliant for oily and breakout-prone complexions as they are for drier ones that still struggle with enlarged pores and dullness. They work in tandem to help remove dirt, oil, makeup, pollution, and anything else that might clog pores or create or exacerbate blemishes. Everyone who tried the new duo was blown away, to say the least. And each person incorporated it into their routine a little differently.

    AGE: 35

    SKIN TYPE: Congested/enlarged pores

“My pores around my nose and cheekbone area are problematic. I use a few pumps of the cleanser and really massage it in. It’s also really great for removing makeup, and it just feels incredibly refreshing. And I love the tonic for my T-zone—it’s light and fresh and leaves my skin so smooth.

“My next step is Tata Harper Elixir Vitae for smoothing lines. It smells like the Malibu superbloom. Then goop Enriching Face Oil. I tap it in around my laugh lines, on my forehead, and all over. Last is the Perfecting Eye Cream from goop. I gently blend it in and then smooth whatever’s left on the backs of my hands.”

    SKIN TYPE: Combination

“I lather on the G.Tox cleanser, focusing on my cheeks since they’re always a bit dry and the most prone to breakouts. When I rinse it off, my skin feels clean and silky. Then I use the malachite tonic. It’s nice and cool, and you can almost feel your pores shrinking. I take a couple pumps of the goop daytime moisturizer. It works wonders on my dry areas without being too rich, and I smooth it onto my neck, too.”

  1. Kelly Burke |chief of staff

    AGE: 29

    SKIN TYPE: Blemish-prone

“These two products have made a huge difference in my skin. I’ve always struggled with breakouts; I run outside a ton and get a lot of dust and sweat clogging my pores. The cleanser is super creamy and really lathery, and it smells like a spa. I can almost feel it tightening my pores as I use it. I smooth the tonic all over my face, making sure I get my cheekbones, where I break out the most.

“Next up, I give myself two or three pumps of the All Over Acne Treatment from Beautycounter, and last, a little Vintner’s Daughter serum. This stuff is gold—practically every goop staffer uses it. I take a dropperful—it smells so good—and work it into my face in an upward motion. The Vintner’s with the G.Tox and the Beautycounter is actually the perfect combination for me right now and gives me a bright, fresh, glowy look.”

    HOW IT WORKS

Naturally occurring fruit alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) gently exfoliate, detoxifying pores and dissolving impurities, while antioxidant malachite, a mineral that gives both the cleanser and tonic their brilliant blue-lagoon tint, helps protect against free radicals.

The cleanser goes on beautifully, feels cooling as it sweeps away the day’s grime, and smells mildly of eucalyptus and geranium essential oils. The best part is how it leaves skin feeling pristine and supple.

The tonic clarifies and retexturizes the skin further. Soak a cotton pad in the formula and gently smooth it across clean, dry skin. The powerfully exfoliating blend of glycolic, phytic, and fruit acids sweeps away dead skin and leaves pores deeply cleansed and smooth. Hyaluronic acid, vitamin B3, mineral-infused sea water, and malachite nourish, hydrate, and conjure a noticeable glow. (If you’re sensitive, use the tonic once a day, at night only.)

The cleanser and tonic fit easily into any morning and/or nighttime routine, and the results, as many goop staffers can now attest, are pretty incredible: skin that’s clear, silky, healthy, next-level smooth, and practically poreless.
