I was already a fan of Lemon Laine, a chic clean beauty store with a custom face-oil bar in hip East Nashville (they carry goop, Vintner’s Daughter, Tata Harper, and more).

Among founder Laura Lemon’s many fantastic creations, her newest—an ultralightweight active-packed face oil—is next-level amazing. After six years of research and thousands of oil-bar consultations (she evaluates a client’s skin routine, diet, lifestyle, water consumption, and more in order to concoct a custom oil), she’s come to the conclusion that everyone has some form of combination skin. “I wanted to make a formula that would address the broadest range of skin concerns—everything from dry, oily, acne-prone, and sensitive to laxity and dullness,” she says. Lemon blended 14 nourishing botanicals—marshmallow root, jojoba, meadowsweet extract, and shave grass extract are just some of the stars—into a gorgeous green hydrating oil that sinks in almost instantly and works like magic.

I reach for it morning and night to plump up, brighten, and nourish my skin (it’s especially great when I overdo it on exfoliating). Plus, the scent—lightly floral with some grounding herbal notes—is addicting. “If a customer doesn’t like the smell, they’ll never use the product,” Lemon says.

My husband is obsessed, too—so much so that when I try to gua sha his face with any other oil I hear, “Whoa, whoa, what are you doing? I want the good stuff.” One month in and we’re already on our second bottle.
