The goop Beauty Closet Questionnaire: Koya Webb
The Beauty Closet Questionnaire

Love Your Body, Eat for Glow, and an Easy Way to Make Your World More Inclusive

Jean Godfrey-June Megan O'Neill

goop beauty editors Jean Godfrey-June and Megan O’Neill love to ask—and answer—questions. On their podcast, The Beauty Closet, they’re doing both. To familiarize you with each week’s guest, we came up with a goop beauty (and life) questionnaire.

THIS WEEK WE’RE TALKING TO:

Koya Webb, spiritual health and wellness educator, host of the Get Loved Up podcast, and author of Let Your Fears Make You Fierce

Listen to Koya Webb and you walk away with a revived confidence in yourself, your body, your love life, and even your ability to kill it at work. On the latest episode of The Beauty Closet, the life coach, motivational speaker, and yogi talks about how not to freeze when someone says something insulting or offensive (the freeze—we know it well), the best foods for glowing skin, the difference between healthy weight loss and disordered eating, and navigating the overwhelmingly White wellness space as a person of color. Webb’s evolution from top athlete to model to wellness guru involved personal struggles with depression and body image, and she uses that perspective in her work with clients to powerful effect. She’s one of the most inspiring, genuinely enlightening people we know, and this conversation is as joyful and actionable as it gets.

LISTEN NOW

“Every day, start by trying to notice how skin color, socioeconomic status, or gender might subtly impact how you treat someone,” she says. “Make a friend of a different culture—not forcefully, but really try to get to know them.” Whether it’s how we can personally help make the world more inclusive, prevent insecurities (body or otherwise), or use exercise and breathwork to get through something difficult, Webb’s advice is some of the most useful we’ve ever gotten. We managed to wedge in a little more by sending her the goop beauty questionnaire.
