A Chic French Pharmacist’s Shopping List

Updated on: November 4, 2024

We love a French pharmacy here at goop, but New York–based French pharmacist Natacha Bonjout took our obsession to the next level. After 15 years of studying skin, she’s launching Bonjout Beauty. Her does-it-all balm is the linchpin of her routine, of course. The multipurpose salve took her five years and hundreds of iterations to finally perfect—it’s made with over 60 active ingredients, including plant stem cells sourced in the South of France. “The best routine is simple and efficient, so I wanted to create a single nourishing product that yielded the results of an eight-step routine,” says Bonjout. “I use it as a serum, moisturizer, salve, eye cream, night cream, and repair mask.”
Naturally, Le Balm is at the top of her shopping list, but we took notes on the rest of her routine, too: It’s chic, simple, glow-inducing, ultramoisturizing, and as effortlessly French as it gets.

1
Bonjout Le Balm
goop, $120“In the morning, Le Balm leaves my skin feeling soft, nourished, supple, and luminous. At night, I apply a thick layer as the final step in my routine (including my lips, under-eyes, and neck) and I wake up hydrated, soothed, and ready for the day. I always keep it on me throughout the day, especially during the cold New York winter.”
2
goop Beauty 20% Vitamin C + Hyaluronic Acid Glow Serum
goop, $125“Vitamin C helps protect my skin and fight against dullness and dark spots. I love this one because you shake to formulate it on the spot—something I had never seen before. Since vitamin C naturally loses efficacy over time, the high concentration (20%) paired with the brown bottle it comes in helps preserve it, keeping the potency strong. It’s fantastic.”
3
Furtuna Skin Cielo Pure Cleansing Oil Balm
goop, $85“This cleanser is a standout. The balmy texture is so good—you can really work it into your face, removing all traces of the day. (I like to use it to do some manual lymphatic drainage massage, too.) I also love that the actives in the formula are sourced from the Mediterranean coast, like Bonjout Beauty.”
4
Augustinus Bader The Body Lotion
goop, $105“I treat my body with the same care as my face, so I’m obsessed with this. It has the same powerful ingredients (like TFC8) as Bader’s skin care. The creamy texture absorbs instantly, and it’s incredibly nourishing, silky, and lightweight.”
5
Caudalie Resveratrol-Lift Firming Night Cream
goop, $72“Every French pharmacist loves the brand Caudalie. Caudalie has used resveratrol, one of the most powerful antioxidants, in its formulas for the past 20 years—it’s found in grape-seed polyphenols. This cream mixes resveratrol with hyaluronic acid, peptides, and more. It feels so good on skin and helps fight fine lines and wrinkles overnight.”
6
Iris&Romeo Weekend Skin SPF 50 + Vitamin C + Glow
goop, $50“I use this every day to give my skin the most natural, healthy-looking glow. It blends seamlessly and is made with antioxidant vitamin E and SPF 50, so it nourishes while shielding my skin from harmful UV rays. I apply it every morning and it gives me extra vitamin C plus SPF all in one—and the glow lasts all day.”
7
Supergoop PLAY 100% Mineral Stick SPF 50
goop, $24“I carry this stick with me everywhere for easy on-the-go applications. It goes on smoothly and stays put, making it perfect for active days or simply for reapplying during outside lunches.”
8
ILIA Limitless Mascara
goop, $28“The magic of this mascara is in the wand’s bristles: It separates and lengthens my lashes for the most subtle, pretty lift and definition. I also love how easily it wipes off at the end of the day—perfection.”
9
Westman Atelier Baby Cheeks Blush Stick
goop, $48“This blush stick easily glides on my skin for a beautiful flush of color. I love the creamy texture, and a little goes a long way—I gently pat it on my cheeks and lips for a fresh, dewy glow.”
10
RMS Beauty Un-CoverUp
goop, $38“The best—it doesn’t crease, it delivers the most natural-looking coverage, and I love the clean, hydrating ingredients like coconut oil and jojoba oil. I use shade 22, and it leaves my skin soft and dewy.”
